Hours: full-time (37.5 hours per week), emergency services clinicians receive a 20% annual stipend in addition to the regular salaryLocation: Lynchburg, VA 24521Compensation dependent on experiencePosition SummaryThe Emergency Services Clinician (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or Resident) LMHP/LMHP-E will respond to requests from the agency and the community for crisis intervention services, to include limited-term crisis Intervention information and referral to community resources. and/or pre-admission screening for inpatient psychiatric and substance abuse treatment. This position will also develop working relationships with area hospitals, schools, social services, law enforcement and other community partners; by actively providing consultation, support and education.Required Education and ExperienceMaster's Degree from a program that prepares individuals to practice counseling (60-hr Master's Program), which is offered by a college or university accredited by a regional accrediting agency. (Re: 54.1-3500 of the Code of Virginia)No experience is required. Experience with the adults in an outpatient setting is preferred.Related credentials: Resident in Professional Counseling, Supervisee in Clinical Social Work, Resident in Licensed Marriage, Family Therapy, Resident in Substance Abuse Treatment, or eligibility to apply for residency. Note: New hires will be expected to apply for clinical supervision and residency within 30 days of hire.Related Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of evidence-based practices to include but not limited to; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT); emergency interventions; family, group, and individual therapies;, psychosocial education; risk assessments; sex offender treatment; substance abuse interventions; etc.Knowledge of community mental health and public health in order to provide advocacy and enhance an individuals treatment and access to community resources.Knowledge of the principles, procedures, techniques, trends, and literature related to mental health, intellectual disabilities and substance abuseKnowledge of psychiatric/medical medications/treatments.Ability to drive and must possess a valid drivers license. May be called upon to travel to any Horizon worksite; transport clients, provide services to client @other locations.
