Assists patients with general comfort needs, meals, and re-positioning, as needed. Assists patients with bed-chair transfers and will also transport patients as needed.

• Interacts with patients as appropriate to provide diversionary activities to engage the patient, such as reading to the patient, working on a puzzle or similar activity, conversing with the patient, etc.
• Assists with patient re-positioning and assists patient with bed-chair transfers.
• Assists patient with meals, and feeds patients as needed.
• Helps patient with general comfort needs, e.g. adjusting covers, or pillow, assisting with a water cup, etc.
• Escorts patients with ambulatory privileges and stays with the patient at all times.
• Assists patients to the bathroom and supervises the patient at all times, requesting assistance as needed.
• Adheres to the Suicide Precautions Policy & Procedure when supervising a patient on restraints.
• Adheres to the Restraint Policy and Procedure when supervising a patient in restraints.
• Transports patients via wheelchair, stretcher, or bed to designated sites as requested, including patients with oxygen tanks, intravenous pumps, drips, monitors, and other equipment.
• .Assists patients with entering and exiting vehicles, including transfer from or to wheelchairs or stretchers.
• Transports patients for internal tests and transports discharged patients to exit.Minimum Education:

    • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
    • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
