RN - Employee Health at SOVAH Health - Martinsville summary:
As a Registered Nurse in Employee Health, I provide and promote
health programs for employees and manage worker's compensation
cases. I conduct health screenings, monitor communicable diseases,
and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, while also maintaining
accurate health records. My role involves continuous education on
healthcare practices and collaboration with various committees to
ensure employee well-being.

Registered Nurse (RN) - Employee Health
Full Time - Days
Position Summary:
- Provides and promotes employee health programs to employees,
physicians, volunteers and students. Supports the worker's
compensation program and OSHA log for Sovah Health -
Martinsville.
- Conducts pre-employment and annual health screening tests for all
employees.
- Screens employees who become ill or injured on the job, and makes
appropriate referrals for further treatment when appropriate for
the employee.
- Monitors, treats, and counsels employees exposed to communicable
diseases, based on protocols.
- Administers medications according to standing and/or written
orders.
- Documents and maintains accurate and current employee health
records.
- Keeps abreast of current theory and practice of nursing.
- Attends educational seminars and courses related to employee
health issues.
- Participates on hospital Infection Control Committee and Safety
Committee.
- Compiles monthly and quarterly reports for quality assurance and
corporate requirements.
- HR contact for student intern/shadowing program.
- Maintains and posts OSHA logs.
- Reports all referred employee injuries to Insurance Carrier.
- Maintains accurate records for Workers' Compensation claims.
- Makes all follow-up contacts with Carrier representatives,
medical caretakers and employee.
- Works cooperatively with Hospital's WC carrier representatives
and medical caregivers to facilitate and expedite the employee's
return to work.
- Arranges for and monitors all temporary light-duty
assignments.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse from the Virginia Board of Nursing or compact
State required.
- Minimum of three years' experience in nursing required.
Experience in employee health, occupational health preferred.
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the
ability to work guided by protocols under guidance of Medical
Director and RN Manager.
- Ability to work under stress; maintain emotional control.
Demonstrates ethical and professional behavioral characteristics
and attitude.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association required.
