RN-Emergency Services at Wythe County Community Hospital summary:
The RN in Emergency Services provides critical patient care in an emergent care environment, utilizing the nursing process to assess and treat life-threatening conditions. This role requires strong critical thinking skills, the ability to work independently under stress, and compliance with rapid response protocols. Candidates must be licensed as Registered Nurses in Virginia and possess certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS within set timeframes.
Description:
*$20,000 Sign on Bonus and Relocation Assistance available for qualifying candidate*
*Night Shift*
Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice in an emergent care environment. Able to recognize, triage, assess, and effectively treat life-threatening conditions.
Reports to: Director of ERQualifications:
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Conscious Sedation competency completion required within 90 days of date of hire.
Ability to regularly accept on-call assignments and ability to report to hospital within 30 minutes of notification.
Required Licensure/Certification:
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and
PALS within 90 days of date of hire.
Handle with Care within one year of date of hire.
Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of VA, or Compact licensure as a Registered Nurse which includes the Commonwealth of VA, and in good standing with the Board.
Minimum Work Experience
One year of previous experience in an ER as an RN strongly preferred.
