  • Contract Duration: From 13 weeks up to March 15, 2025, to support our unit through the holidays.
    
  • Work Hours: 36 or 48 hours per week with no overtime billed until after 48 hours.
    
  • Shift: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15).
    
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend.
    
  • Floating Requirement: As needed to the sister unit, ICCU.
    
    
    Required Skills and Certifications
    
    
    • 
      
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown units.
      
    • Experience with arterial lines, titrating vasoactive drips, and telemetry.
      
    • Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation and management, Rapid Response Teams, and IV insulin protocols.
      
    • Central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and heparin protocols expertise.
      
    • Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, and NIH.
      
    • Experience with IV start, telemetry, and conscious sedation.
      
      
      Patient Diagnoses
      
      
      • 
        
      • ICU stepdown, post-rapid response team patients, respiratory distress, and unstable hemodynamics.
        
      • GI bleeds, post-op surgeries (GYN, GU, GI, thoracotomies, neuro, ortho), and pre/post OB with complications.
        
      • Patient age range: adolescent, adult, geriatric.
        
        
        Special Procedures and Equipment
        
        
        • 
          
        • Administering specific drips such as Cardizem, Nitro, Precedex, Cardene, Levophed, Dopamine, and Dobutamine.
          
        • Use of bedside telemetry monitors with remote backup.
          
        • Proficiency in recognizing and treating dysrhythmias, A-lines, BIPAPs, chest tubes, and tracheostomies.

          • Hospital Orientation: Available for classes during the first week.
            
          • EKG Testing: Must pass prior to starting this specialty.
            
          • Scrubs: Navy, white, or a combination of the two.
